Spotify Release Engagement

Spotify for Artists is rolling out a new beta feature that allows artists to better understand the response from their followers to their new releases.

This is slowly being rolled out. To see if it is available in your location, open Spotify for Artists on your computer. Go to the Audience tab then look for Release engagement Beta.

This new feature looks at the number of followers the artist had on release day, then shows how many of those followers listened to the latest release within the first 28 days.

Using this new data provides a solid understand of how engaged the artist’s followers are and includes a day-by-day view of what % of followers have streamed the new release.

Another great addition is a section of recommended actions to increase engagement on the new release. I checked for one of my personal artist projects and it prompted me to add an Artist Pick, as I didn’t currently have one. This is valuable because it highlights missed opportunities as quick actions the artist, or someone on their team can take.

Have you tried this new feature yet?
Do you think it will be helpful for an artist to understand how many followers are actively listening to new releases?
