Sirius XM pitching, DM fans via the mobile app, reach DJ’s via Beatsource, schedule repost trades with other artists and so much more. Let’s dive into it!
SoundCloud for Artists has a brand new look and some new features for 2023. Let’s dive in and take a look at whats new.

Pitch music for Sirius XM
Sirius XM is a satellite radio service in the United States. It comes as standard in most new cars and also has a streaming app. SoundCloud for Artists gives you the opportunity to pitch music for programming considering on SoundCloud Radio (a station on Sirius XM).
It’s worth noting that I logged in to my free SoundCloud account to confirm this option was available, and that this pitch opportunity only appears to be available for Hip Hop at this time.
Direct message fans in the mobile app
SoundCloud has always allowed artists to message followers directly but this feature is now available in the Android app (with iOS to follow).
Being able to communicate directly with a fan after they leave feedback/comments on a song is incredibly valuable for building a connection.
New look
They have a clean new look with easy to read details highlighting streams, releases and promotional opportunites.
Additional pitch opportunities
In addition to the Sirius XM opportunity mentioned above, artists can also submit for these opportunities with Beatport, BPM Supreme and Beatsource. While there are no guarantees, there is an opportunity to get music in front of DJ’s, allowing them to incorporate it into their sets and mix shows.
Promotional tools
To my surprise, SoundCloud highlights some promotion tools that appear to have been recently aquired.
Smart Links are becoming more common and SoundCloud allow you to create links to your music across various platforms, so fans can listen on their platform of choice. Pre-save links are also available for Spotify and integrated into the smart links, meaning that after the release goes live it will change from pre-save to a listen link.
SCPlanner provides a way to schedule and automate repost trades with other artists. This creates a mutually beneficial opportunity where both artists will repost a song to their feed and reach their followers. It can be scheduled from a calendar and works effortlessly.
Promote on SoundCloud is a way to run paid promotion directly on the SoundCloud platform.
Paid plans
SoundCloud continues to have a free offering for artists who simply want to upload their creations and share them with the world. In addition they do also have paid offerings for artists looking for distribution. Please note that while every effort was made to ensure accuracy, some of the features mentioned may fall under one of these paid plans.
